You will find Santa Cruz a delightful place of sojourn. Not alone is the city attractive; the surrounding region is no less so. It is but six miles by rail to the famed Santa Cruz grove of Big Trees, at Big Tree Station on Southern Pacific, and twenty-eight miles from Santa Cruz by auto-road is the California State Redwood Park, in the Big Basin--four thousand acres of virgin wilderness, with many sequoias three hundred feet high and twenty-five feet in diameter. These giants are more ancient, say the scientists, than the Sphinx or Pyramids.

The course of the Santa Cruz Golf and Country Club lies but little more than a mile from the business center of Santa Cruz, and all southbound Southern Pacific trains stop at Links station, directly back of the Club-house.
